Haddonfield Public Schools welcome
qualified students from other districts who
value both the challenges and choices of large
schools and the opportunities for participation
in the collegial environment of small ones.
Spots in the general education program are
available on a limited basis to preserve Haddonfield’s
high quality of instruction, and prospective
students must apply with records indicating
academic success.
Haddonfield has a reputation
in South Jersey and beyond as a district focused
on academic excellence and co-curricular student
life. In particular, the high school’s history
of success has been lauded in local,
regional and national media. It boasts
a first-of-its-kind partnership
with Drexel University that delivers free,
college-level courses for high-achieving students,
and its average SAT scores are routinely among
the best in the region. Since those
top-level achievements start with a strong
middle school foundation, Haddonfield's
Tuition Program accepts students as young as
grade 6.
What does Haddonfield offer?
A detailed
listing of HMHS courses and graduation
requirements shows all the academic opportunities
available to students. Some 83% of students
find a spot on one of our athletic
teams and 93% participate in co-curricular
activities ranging from quality music
and drama programs to competitive intellectual
clubs to numerous service organizations.
The profile
we provide to colleges gives a snapshot of
the various ways HMHS helps prepare students
for life after graduation. More than 95% of
our 2010 graduates had plans to continue their
education immediately, with nearly 90% of
them headed to four-year colleges. Graduates
from that class are studying at schools near
– like Princeton, Drexel, University of Pennsylvania
and Villanova – and far, such as UCLA, Brown
University, Johns Hopkins and University of
Michigan. Details are in our comprehensive
report
to the state. In addition to the scholarships
funded by donated money held by the district,
HMHS 2010 graduates were offered a total of
$13.7 million in scholarships from outside
sources.
Students who are not residents of the Haddonfield
district pay annual tuition for 2011-12 of:
Grades 6 though 8 $9,900
Grades 9 through 12 $11,250
Applying
for Admission
For residents outside the school district,
attending one of the Haddonfield Public Schools
starts with an application
to be submitted with past report cards and
standardized test scores. High school students
in particular are invited to spend a typical
school day shadowing a student with similar
interests. Our Student
for a Day option is often one of the defining
experiences for prospective students.
