Page 13 Everyone on Uta-Jima must bathe in the island's public bathhouse. Not even rich Teru has a bath or shower in his home. He takes off his clothes and, inappropriately without rinsing, dives right into the hot water. Soaking in the tub, he hears two men gossip of the love between Hatsue and Shinji.
