About Elizabeth Haddon Elementary School

Elizabeth Haddon Elementary (also known as "Lizzy Haddon") is a public K-5 elementary school located in the suburban community of Haddonfield, NJ. Enrollment is just over 400 students, and 30 dedicated faculty members serve our students.

Lizzy Haddon is a community school that is dedicated to challenging students to rigorous standards and providing a school climate where students achieve their fullest potential in a unique learning environment. Our vision of striving for excellence and instilling a commitment to lifelong learning and citizenship is embraced by students, staff, parents, and our local community.

Students at Lizzy Haddon focus on the areas of language arts, reading, mathematics, social studies, and science. Beyond the core subjects, students attend classes in physical education, library science, art, choral music, computer, health and safety, and keyboarding. Pillars of good character are developed through a careful infusion of principles of character education throughout the curriculum.

Children are given opportunities to serve their school and community through extra-curricular activities including peer mediation, student council, school store, and safety patrol. Enrichment opportunities are available such as a Junior Great Books, Art Goes to School, elementary chorus, band, and orchestra, school newspaper, Bookworm, noontime enrichment, and more.

Community and parent involvement at Lizzy Haddon is an important part of the learning environment. Our active and effective PTA provides extensive support for programs and special activities. Parents arrange for assembly programs to extend the curriculum. They organize and work at many of the enrichment programs, chaperone school trips and parties, and raise funds to support student activities.

Together, all of the members of the Lizzy Haddon community work together to assure that our students realize their fullest potential.
